Fiesta® Dinnerware Introduces Claret to Iconic Color Palette
Homer Laughlin Launches Sophisticated New Color at IHHS
Newell, West Virginia – (March 5, 2016) – The Homer Laughlin China Company™, manufacturer of the colorful and iconic Made in America Fiesta® Dinnerware, continues the tradition of launching its Fiesta color of the year during the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago, March 5-°©‐8, 2016, Booth S2003. The highly anticipated color of the year for 2016 is Claret, a rich deep red hue with slightly purplish undertones.
“Claret fulfills a void in our vast Fiesta color spectrum,” says Rich Brinkman, VP of Sales and Marketing at Homer Laughlin. “Last year we introduced Sage and Slate. Claret is a beautiful progression into this sophisticated color palette, but it also mixes well with the more vibrant hues, bringing depth and a complementing accent into the Fiesta palette.”
Some examples of how Claret will work its way into the Fiesta color spectrum include the following:
Theme | Primary Colors | Accent Colors |
Spice of Life | Claret, Poppy, Tangerine, Sunflower, Scarlet, Paprika | Lemongrass |
Farm Fresh | Claret, Lapis, Lemongrass, Poppy, Scarlet, Sage, Cobalt | Shamrock, Sunflower |
Sophisticated Floral Bouquet | Claret, Lapis, Sage, White | Slate, Sunflower |
Mid Century Modern | Slate, Sage, Paprika, Ivory or White | Claret, Sunflower with Lemongrass, Lapis with Turquoise, Poppy |

Antique Holiday | Scarlet, Sage, Ivory | Claret, Slate |
“The continued interest in wine-°©‐colored tones gives the latest Fiesta Dinnerware addition, Claret, a more sophisticated, yet still hardy touch. It’s a classic color that lends an interesting flavor to many of the other iconic Fiesta shades,” says color expert Leatrice Eiseman, colorexpert.com and eisemancolorblog.wordpress.com.
At any given time, Fiesta Dinnerware has only 15 colors in its spectrum. So, with the addition of Claret, Plum will retire. Plum was in production since 2001.
Standard dinnerware pieces will be available in Claret, including 4-°©‐ and 5-°©‐ piece sets, the NEW 3pc Bistro Set, and a variety of plates, platters, bowls, mugs, and the signature disk pitcher, and serving pieces (sold separately). Suggested retail price for the 4-°©‐ and 5-°©‐piece place settings is $32.99 (MAP) and $56.00 (MSRP). Presale starts May 15th and items will be in better department, .coms and specialty stores. Available mid June 2016.
